Longing for Forever

Dear friends from Idaho went out of their way by many hours and spent the night in a hotel to have breakfast with Wanda and I a few days ago. We had a delightful time, reminiscing and catching up on our kids, work, etc.  But all too quickly, two hours was up and they had to get back on the road to Houston to catch their plane home to Idaho. It was a delight to see friends of more than twenty years, but sad to see them go because we didn’t have enough time.

I praise God that eternity looms for His children.  One day soon I pray, time will no longer have a steely grip on our lives. No longer will we be pressed for time when we’re with friends.  And more importantly, those we love will never age, will never grow sick, and will never die. The consequences of sin, time and sickness and death, will cease to exist.  I’m longing for those days.  How about you?  Even so Lord Jesus, please come quickly.

New Programs Coming

After more than thirty years in ministry, Leith Anderson, senior pastor, author and radio show host has retired and will no longer be producing his radio program, A Faith Minute.  While I was in the process of looking for a replacement, I found a couple of other programs I liked as well.

Beginning Monday, January 2nd, be listening for three new programs on The Journey. Walk the Way features pastor, youth minister and author Jeff Klein. He will challenge us to make God real in our lives every day. For Real features Jamie Ragle, a Christian comedian and musician who will provide a light-hearted approach to sharing the gospel and challenge our daily walk. The third program features Super Bowl winning coach Tony Dungy and his Uncommon Life Challenge. Coach Dungy will share from his heart and his experience and challenge us to excel in our walk with God.

I hope you like the new programs. As always, if you have any questions or comments about anything you hear, our phone number is 877-533-0883.  My email is manager@883thejourney.org.

Thank You

Christmas is upon us and a brand new year is just around the corner. I just wanted to take an opportunity to say thank you. I’m pleased, humbled and frequently amazed when I have a chance to talk with you about your story; about how we played the right song at the right time; about how one of our ministry features touched your life; about how God is using this ministry to bless you and draw you closer to Him.  That’s why The Journey exists.

I also wanted to say thank you for your prayers for my mom and my family.  Chemo and radiation treatments started last week and will continue through early February, with time off for good behavior around Christmas. The doctors say there are still reasons for hope.  We’re going to take a few days off to spend some time in Missouri with my family.  We’re praying for a quiet and uneventful Christmas.  Thanks again for caring and praying.  I appreciate it.

And as the year winds down, don’t forget the ministry that happens every day at the Journey is only possible because listeners just like you are financial supporters.  If you are blessed by what you hear and appreciate the ministry of The Journey, know it happens only when you are involved.  You can find out more about making a year-end gift on our website at 88.3 the journey dot org.

Merry Christmas. Have a blessed and happy New Year. And once again, thank you.  For 88.3 The Journey, I’m General Manager Mike Agee.
