We would love a chance to say hi and meet you face to face. We've been invted to a couple of things this weekend and wanted to invite you to come and see us.

Friday, May 18, 11:00am to 2:00pm

We've been invited to the Mountain Valley Pinnacle Bank on Highway 174 between Joshua and Burleson. We'll have some music and books to give away, bumper stickers and such. The bank will be serving bugers and hot dogs so come on by to say hi.

Sunday, May 20, 9:30am & 11:30am

We've been invited to come and spend the morning with Pastor Troy Brewer and the Open Door Church in Joshua on what they are calling "Journey Sunday." Open Door Church is located at 301 S. Main in downtown Joshua.

The Simple Things

The last few weeks have reminded me it’s always about the simple things; a phone call, an email, a get well card, a voice message, a visit, a warm casserole made with love. And how very easy it is to forget about how important they can be to others and how easy they are to take for granted. I can’t tell you how much I’m looking forward to a hot shower after weeks of sponge baths.

“The righteous will answer him, saying Lord when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you a drink? When did we see you sick or in prison and come to you?” Looking back I’m guilty of being too busy, too self-involved, too focused on my own needs and have ignored the opportunity to bless someone with a simple thing. So I can’t miss a chance to say thank you to all of you have shared some simple things with me the past few weeks. But thank you is inadequate to express my deepest gratitude.

And I would be remiss if I didn’t remind myself, and you, that Jesus’ call on our life is simple. Love the Lord with all your being, take care of each and walk humbly with Him. From a fellow traveler that’s been blessed, thanks for walking with us.

Agent of Change

For most of my thirty plus years in radio, I have been an agent of change. I’m always looking for ways to do something differently, better or more efficiently. Apparently I have the gift of change. At least until we start talking about my personal life. In my personal life, I don’t like change much at all. I’m over fifty and I like certain foods, music, TV, friends, hobbies and vacations spots just fine, thank you very much. So it has been an interesting few weeks for me.

Choices & The Unexpected

I’ve learned a couple of things over the years; choices matter and always expect the unexpected. Eight years ago, I turned left instead of right and the ensuing accident changed the trajectory of my life. Not only did the unexpected accident shatter my left shoulder, it shattered the façade I had created for myself, projecting the image of being untouchable and having it all together. Four surgeries and months of physical therapy proved both of those things utterly false.

Spring Sharathon

We have lots of people to thank. Thanks to more than 200 who called in during our annual Spring Sharathon. Thanks to a couple of dozen folks who came and volunteered to answer phones. Thanks to Kody and Eastern Heights in Cleburne and Troy and Open Door Church in Joshua for loving on us and answering phones. Thanks to Savala's Breakfast Burritos in Alvarado and Royal Pizza in Cleburne for feeding us. And thanks to Chicken Express in Alvarado for the ice tea.

New Programs in the New Year

After more than thirty years in ministry, Leath Anderson, author, senior pastor and host of Faith Minute, has retired and will no longer produce his radio program. That means we had to find a replacement beginning in January.

While we were looking at new programs, we found a couple more we liked, so beginning Monday, January 2nd, listen for these new programs on 88.3 The Journey.

Warm Toes & A Thankful Heart

That’s how many pairs of socks, warm feet and happy little toes were covered last week by the Bless a Sole in Need sock drive. We’ve divided them up and delivered them to Operation Blessing of Johnson County in Cleburne and to Harvest House in Burleson to give away to families in need this holiday season. Thank you for your generosity and for going out of your way to help. And thanks to Pinnacle Banks for allowing us to invade their lobbies.

The Story Tour Concert

You're invited to hear THE STORY Tour, a Christmas spectacular presented by World Vision and featuring many of your favorite Christmas carols as well as THE STORY, a musical journey from Genesis to Revelation. The concert is scheduled for Friday night, Dec. 2nd, at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. Concert starts at 7:00 pm, featuring Steven Curtis Chapman, Newsboys, Francesca Battistelli, Natalie Grant, Selah, Anthem Lights, and Rawsrvnt with special guests Max Lucado and Randy Frazee.
